The Dream

This Dream - the Community and Foundation Terra Mirim, was revealed to me in a meditation about 17 years ago. Scenery with many people was shown and one voice spoke to me: “The place in which you live does not belong to you. It is destined to receive the people who seek for their true mission. This place belongs to the humanity.”

Thus, everything started. The initial pureness of the dream made me believe in its immediate fulfillment, not knowing that the act of leading a community could bring such a profound exercise of transformation and discoveries. The time revealed me, what I was seeking so ardently: learn to know myself and the other, the incoherencies and contradictions appeared in so visible way. Finally I began to see and to know myself, without choice - the primal subjective matter, which formed the human being.

Lots of people came, contributed in their way and went away, others stayed. Those who stayed still contributing decisively with the architecture of what we gently call Terra Mirim. The Institution has grown and strengthened throughout many crises we have passed through as well as infinite joy and happiness we have experienced.

Just like an original act of living is based on a permanent contraction and expansion, we succeeded to give birth to the beautiful being which we have carried in our womb. Several times my tears have fallen into the lap of the Great Mother, asking for Her help; I know, that my Service is dedicated to Her and everything I do, is in the name of the force, which gives me impulse to share, to live in a direct contact with my brothers and sisters – humans, animals, vegetables and minerals - dreamers like me, devotees to the Divine.


The Dreamer

Alba Maria is a person who lives in a continuous transformation process. 22 years ago she started her deepening work with herself and at the same time a great diving into the attempt to touch the portal, where the incoherencies, conflicts and desires of the human being reside.

It was a visceral attempt to decode patterns, conditionings and attitudes, which gave form to the human expression. Combining her psychological knowledge and shamanic practices, she worked and works with thousands of people, both individually and in groups.

At one certain moment “ I felt, I become addicted to the life within the human pain and also, to depend financially from these complicated processes, that we, people usually create. I decided to stop for a moment and ask myself, what it is, I would really like to hear in my daily life and with whom I would like to live and work? I made a difficult decision to stop the old way of working and change everything. It was hard because I loved my job and all the people who were involved in it. But I really wanted to hear about the happiness, I wanted to expand the form of working. I wanted to come out of the office, break the walls and walk in the Nature, my Master, breathing the fresh air of the day and rest in the quietude of the night, celebrating the act of life.”

Thus, Alba Maria dedicated herself to travel through the world, learning about the new ways of living together. At the same time she strengthened her being, in order to dedicate to the fulfillment of her big Dream - foundation of a community - the Terra Mirim Foundation in Simões Filho, Bahia, Brazil. The Foundation is a reference organization in education, as well as in solidarity economy and community development in Brazil and in several countries in Europe.

Alba Maria is considered a shaman, who created her own path and rituals and made her choice for the spiritual shamanism. She is also considered an active voice in community life, who defends values and forms of the participative and shared living. In the community where she lives one can see her singing, dancing, laughing and sharing the knowledge “God/Goddess is such a perfect Being, that within Him-/Herself the imperfection also exists”. Every year Alba Maria travels abroad – to Germany, Switzerland and Italy. She participates in congresses, leads workshops and trails in the Nature, teaching, pointing out and learning the art to serve the Higher Energy “ the one who concedes us the right to live and the beauty to die”.

Alba Maria is completely dedicated to serve the Divine Purpose, living in devotion and in love to the Nature and to the Great Mother. She shares her daily life with her tribe in a continuous exercise of inner awakening, pointing out the Grace to be here, on our beloved Mother Earth and to be allowed to enjoy this experience.
